Adoption Fundraising Ideas

Adoption groups and agencies have an important job to do and they often need fundraisers to do it. Fundraising can be difficult to say the least, especially when you are busy striving to facilitate the adoption process, encouraging women to choose adoption and to make the whole process as easy as possible for all concerned parties, the birthparents, grand-parents and the adopting families and of course, the children themselves.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Hueytown, Alabama, The Journey Home is a 5K run, a one-mile fun run and a craft market fundraiser which supports efforts by Hueytown residents to adopt orphans. In Broome County, New York Brooks BBQ set up shop across from the Binghamton University main entrance. The goal of the fundraising event was to raise money for the Wendy’s Walk for Kids, which includes the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Fundraisers by other adoption groups include children’s ID cards, imprinted teddy bears, garage sales, bottle campaigns, and other, non-BBQ type dinners.
