Child Welfare Fundraising Ideas

Whether you’re fundraising for sick children, needy children, hungry children or abused children, whether it’s for the children of your local community or children half way around the world, you know how hard fundraising for child welfare can be.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Texas, the Third Annual “Saddle Up For Kids” fundraiser featured a delicious chuck wagon steak dinner highlighted by entertainment to benefit the Parker County Child Welfare Board. Elsewhere, but also in Texas, the Jack County Child Welfare Board wrapped up their fundraiser recognizing that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month by selling hundreds of “Pinwheels for Prevention.” The pinwheels carried the name of a loved one in “honor of” or in “memory of” and were placed on the Jack County courthouse lawn. They served as a visual reminder about child abuse prevention and they symbolized the importance of everyone working together to protect the children. Fundraisers by other child welfare groups include clothing drives, bake sales, product sales, spare change drives, thons, and dinners.
