FCCLA Fundraising Ideas

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) formerly known as Future Homemakers of America, is a nonprofit U.S. career and technical student organization for young men and women in family and consumer science education in public and private schools through grade 12 across the United States. FCCLA members are often called upon to do a fundraiser for their chapter. Fundraising can be very challenging, especially in a tough economy.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Knoxville, a  fundraising project by FCCLA students was a fundraiser for Camp Heart Connection, which is a specialty summer camp for kids with cancer. The group raised money by setting off floating lanterns during living windows and collecting donations throughout the year. The North Dakota an FCCLA rfundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network., consisted of selling Rips, or fruit juice slushies, on Fridays. Fundraisers by other FCCLA chapters include dating games, slow pitch softball tournaments, restaurant nights, raffles, product sales, can drives, carnivals, data matches, babysitting, and face painting.

The most popular fundraising products are candles, candy, catalogs, cause related, cheesecake, Christmas, coffee, cookbooks, cookie dough, discount cards, eco friendly, flower bulbs, greeting cards, magazines, online, pasta, popcorn, scratch cards, snacks, special events, spirit, t-shirts, and a wide variety of unique surprises, many of which would be appropriate for FCCLA chapters.  If you don't find a fundraising idea that appeals to you, check out our complete product and do-it-yourself indexes for a great selection of fundraiser ideas for FCCLA chapters.
