Forensic League fundraiser

Forensic League Fundraising Ideas

Say the word “Forensic” to most people and they will conjure up images of TV detectives gathering up evidence and scrutinizing it under a microscope. But the National Forensic League is actually a Speech and Debate Honor Society for middle and high schools and secondary schools, and like all such organizations, they require fundraising to help their group with travel expenses, outreach programs, award banquets and the like. Getting people to part with their money in a tough economy is, well, tough. Who better to argue the case for fundraising than a trained debater?

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Pascagoula, MS, some local students held a car wash at the gym parking lot as a fundraiser for the speech and debate team to send members to national competition. In Butte, MT, the local Papa Murphy’s held a Pizza Monday fundraiser for the Butte students going to the National Forensic League Qualifier. Fundraisers by other school and forensic leagues include casual Fridays, holiday gift wrapping, tournament hosting, thons, product sales, raffles, and auctions.
