Golf Fundraising Ideas

There are golf groups, golf societies, golf teams, golf leagues and golf clubs (pun intended), but whatever you call your group, whether your club is for ladies only, or golf-community members only, or just a bunch of friends who like to get together to play the beloved, and often frustrating game of golf, at some point, chances are you’re going to want to throw a fundraiser to raise money for your group. Clubs raise money for green fees, cart rentals, social events and tournament fees. Some golf groups throw a fundraiser for local charities or a member in need. And of course charitable organizations of all kinds often turn to golf tournaments as a fundraising event for their group. Fundraising can be quite challenging at time, almost as challenging as the game itself!

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Ardmore, PA, Radnor High School girls’ golf team seniors played a 104-hole marathon fundraiser to benefit Women Golfer’s Give Back, an organization founded to give back to the community and promote the game of golf to deserving young girls. In Gloucester, NJ, the Incarnation Community Golf Classic fundraiser, benefited the Angela Guttuso Fund for a graduate that suffered traumatic brain injury after a hit-and-run accident. Fundraisers by other Golf teams include golf tournament, celebrity autographs, snow golf, thons, restaurant nights, raffles, and product sales.
