Lacrosse Fundraising Ideas

Lacrosse originated with Native Americans and is now played at every level, from youth to their own major league, and is played by both men and women, boys and girls. Modern day lacrosse takes a lot of specialized equipment and for many teams that means one thing: fundraising. Fundraising in a tough economy can be well… tough. What can you do to make your fundraiser a success?

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Mt. Carmel, CA, the MCHS Sundevils Girls Lacrosse team often teams up with local restaurants and boutiques who donate a portion of purchases on certain days with a copy of the appropriate flier. The fliers are posted on the team’s fundraising website. In Temecula, CA, 100 volunteers showed up at a carwash and bake sale fundraiser for a local teen injured while playing lacrosse. Fundraisers by other Lacrosse teams include mulch sales, restaurant nights, discount movie tickets, comedy nights, thons, auctions, raffles, and dinners.

Food Fight - In Lawrence, New Jersey, it was the ultimate food fight, a chocolate lover’s dream and a neat-freak’s nightmare. But for the 670 people who participated in the fundraiser, it meant much more. The Lawrenceville School hosted the potentially record-breaking chocolate custard pie fight at a campus field. Red Neck Games - Participants in this fundraiser dress up like rednecks and take part in redneck-related activities such as the hubcap toss; mud pit belly flop contest; bobbing for pigs feet; mud pit slip-and-slide; mud pit tug-of-war; redneck horseshoes using toilet seats; the armpit serenade contest; greased pig catching; and redneck surfing, in which a participant stands on a mattress while being pulled through a mud pit by an all-terrain vehicle.
