Do-It-Yourself
Fundraiser Of The Month
Gas Station Attendant: Ask a
local gas station to let you pump customers
gas and wash their windshields. You can
either ask for an unspecified donation
or a set amount (you will do better without a set
amount). Since most stations are now self
service you will be offering the customers a welcome option.
It's a win-win situation. It doesn't cost the station a cent and
their customers get premium service. You'll get a few
cheapskates but most customers will "treat you right"! You have
no upfront cost. The gas stations already have the windshield
cleaner, squeegees and paper towels. You just provide warm
bodies and elbow grease. |

Email Merge Software
Email merge
with WorldMerge is similar to mail
merge in Word or WordPerfect. You create a
form email and merge personalized data into each
message. Then your
email messages are addressed to “Dear Larry”
instead of “Dear Member”.
You create personalized messages you send via standard
Internet email, fast and easy. You don’t have to print letters,
stuff and stamp envelopes and wait several days for a response.
Unlike other programs, you aren't required
to convert data from your existing database format.
WorldMerge opens, reads and uses your existing database
directly. Once you have a targeted email list,
you can create email merge templates. You write one message
that will be sent to all the people on your list, except now you can
"drop" in database fields you wish to be merged.
When your member receives your
message, it will be individually addressed with personal data merged
into the message body and you won’t have
to reveal your list of email addresses in the CC: field.

When America's first 911 call was
made, a U.S. Representative answered with a hearty "Hello?"
Truth be told, it was little more than a publicity stunt at the time,
a way to put the tiny town of Haleyville, Alabama, on the map. It's
grown into something that has saved countless lives.
In 1968, the U.S. finally caught up with a few other countries
and decided to begin implementation of a country-wide emergency
telephone number. When AT&T announced the
911 project that January via a press release, a gentleman named Bob
Gallagher (who ran a small independent phone company in Alabama)
decided he'd work to become the first carrier in America to offer the
service. (continued) |
