Do-It-Yourself
Fundraiser Of The Month
Dog Walk: Call it what
you will – Jog Your
Dog, Canine Constitutional, Paws in the Park, Wag and Walk.
A sponsored pet walk where the walkers (and their pets)
solicit donations for how far they walk. Or, participants pay a
set fee to enter and walk their dog.
OR, bring homeless dogs who need
walking. Remember the pooper scoopers. This could
culminate in a pet talent show or some
other event where you solicit additional donations. Use it to
present spay/neuter message, or message of
finding homes for all the homeless ones. Ask people to
sponsor a homeless dog to see how many
laps (limit of four?) he can do. More Details |

Elvis Lives!

|
The King still wears the money crown. Rock
’n’ roll legend Elvis Presley, dead for more than 26 years,
led the list of top-earning deceased celebrities for the
third year in a row, to the tune of $40 million for the year ending
September 2003. Runner-up on the list was Peanuts cartoon creator Charles Schulz,
earning $32 million; third at $22 million was writer J.R.R. Tolkien.
Former Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison earned $19 million
and $16 million, respectively, putting them fourth and fifth on the
list. Rounding out the top 10 were children’s book author Dr. Seuss, race
car driver Dale Earnhardt, rapper Tupac Shakur, reggae star Bob
Marley and movie star Marilyn Monroe. In
addition, Elvis
has sold 120,000,000 albums - more than any other single artist. Garth
Brooks is second with 105 million; Billy Joel, 78.5 million; Barbara
Streisand, 71.5 million; and Elton John, 67.5 million. |
