Reserved Parking Fundraiser

The Student Council at Bastrop (Texas) High School came up with a fundraising project that capitalizes on the desire every student who drives to school has to be able to find a parking space close to the building. Since regular parking permits at Bastrop cost $20 and do not guarantee a space, the Student Council reserves 50 parking spaces that they sell by number for $35. These spaces are reserved until noon.  It’s good income with little hassle. After they purchased signs and painted the numbers, there is about a $50 overhead per year for decals. Source: National Honor Society

Alternative: This isn’t limited to schools. Consider a parking space auction. Wouldn’t it be nice to roll up in the morning and park in the VP’s spot? Now you can- for a price! A parking space auction is a great fundraiser and team builder all rolled into one. Talk to your CEO, VP, or principal, ask if they would be willing to auction off their spot for a month, and see fundraising come alive! Watch students vie for the prime spot on the campus or co-workers compete for the VP’s luxury spot. Fun, fast and super easy to do.  Source: American Cancer Society
