Knights of Columbus Fundraising Ideas

The Knights of Columbus (K o f  C) is a Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization. This theme permeates the entire Service Program: all Church, community, council, family, culture of life, and youth activities. The K of C are actively involved in many fundraising activities to support their projects. Fundraising can be challenging but it is also rewarding.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Leesburg, VA, The K of C hosts an annual Knights United in Charity Golf Tournament fundraiser, most recently to support Boulder Crest Retreat, a rural sanctuary under construction for wounded warriors and their families. In Dexter, MI, hosting the Knights of Columbus’ Memorial Day chicken broil on the actual Memorial Day date was a gamble, but the gamble paid off and set another precedent for the yearly fundraising event. Fundraisers by other Knights of Columbus Lodges include peanut and tootsie roll sales, video race nights, bake-offs, coat checks, car smashes, hairy leg contests, movie parties, parking cars, raffles, auctions, weigh & pays, and thons.

Ugly Tie Contest – Allow the children and youth of your church to each decorate a man’s neck tie for a fundraiser. Use all sorts of tacky things to glue on the ties… buttons, lace, small toys, flowers, etc. Display the ties in a prominent location in your church. Put a jar or bucket beneath each tie.
