Volleyball Fundraising Ideas

Volleyball can be played on an indoor court, on an outdoor court, in the sand at the beach, some people even play it in a pool. It can be played by males and females, separately or together, in teams of 10 or teams of 2. Volleyball teams tend to stick to the regulation indoor court or beach volleyball court in same-sex teams. Volleyball teams hold a fundraiser to maintain their courts and viewing stands, to purchase equipment and pay for travel expenses. Some volleyball teams and other groups hold volleyball fundraisers for charity.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Meaford, ON (Canada) students involved with the ‘Born to Read’ program at Georgian Bay Secondary School (GBSS) held their annual fundraising teacher-student volleyball match. In exchange for a donation, students were able to forgo their last class of the day to take in the competition. In Fort St. John, BC (Canada), Northern B.C.’s Under-17 girls volleyball team held a flower sale fundraiser for Mother’s Day. The squad used the money raised to help pay for their trip to Nationals. Fundraisers by other Volleyball teams include penny drives, pie throws, donation jars, dinners, thons, raffles, and product sales.

Mall Coat Check – Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, my nephew’s basketball team went to the local mall every weekend. They had arranged with the mall management company for an area to have a fundraising coat check. Stores in the mall donated the temporary use of racks to hang the coats on and a secured area for people to leave packages, etc. Read more…

Sell Your Wares – Our mothers’ group at church hosted a “sell your wares” fundraising evening last November. Our members who normally sell items at home parties (e.g., Longaberger Baskets, Tupperware, Usborne Books, Avon, Tastefully Simple, Home Interior, Fabulous Finds, Pampered Chef, People Fit, Party Lights), set up vendors’ tables in our church meeting room. Read more…
