Fire Department Fundraising Ideas

There’s no denying that fire-fighters are heroes in every sense of the word. Not only do they risk life and limb to keep us safe, they also spend a lot of time and effort on a community fundraiser or raising funds for fallen and injured comrades. Fundraising can be challenging and fire department fundraisers are no different in that respect.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Rhode Island, Four members of the North Providence Fire Department volunteered to pull a fire truck as a fundraiser at the St. Mary’s Home for Children’s second “Heal and Hope Walk”. The four fire-fighters with help from others, twice pulled the truck more than 50 feet. In Missouri, the Senath Fire Department held its annual barbeque fundraiser with all proceeds going towards the purchase of rescue equipment. Fundraisers by other Fire Departments include boot drives, product sales, chili cook-offs, raffles, concerts, restaurant nights, yard sales, labor auctions and Guns & Hoses challenge events.

Demolition – The Coventry Myton Hospice Appeal in the United Kingdom had a very successful fundraiser selling raffle tickets for the right to press the button to demolish the Foleshill gas tower, a local landmark.
