Fraternity Fundraising Ideas

College is where many life-long relationships begin. The Greek system helps to build strong friendships and a sense of brotherhood or sisterhood. For college men that means joining a fraternity. There are hundreds of different fraternities and while they may treat each other as rivals, one thing they all have in common is a need for fundraising. A Fraternity is held to make improvement to the Fraternity House, to raise awareness for a cause championed by the fraternity, to help raise money for various campus improvements, or maybe they just need funds to throw a really, really, really big party… for a good cause of course.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. At Western Illinois University, the ASGR fraternity holds an annual Smokin Hog fundraiser to benefit local charities. A Pie-in-your-face fundraiser by the Zeta Chi fraternity at Hardin-Simmons University benefited a Russian orphanage. Cal State Fullerton Greeks raised a record amount to help send children to camp with their Spring Greek Week fundraiser. Fundraisers by other fraternities include thons, singing Valentines, dinners, product sales, raffles, auctions, bowling tournaments, restaurant nights, jail & bail, and car washes.
