Junior Achievement Fundraising Ideas

Junior Achievement (JA) empowers young people to own their economic success. Their volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. JA relies on fundraising to achieve this goal. Fundraising is just another challenge that helps teach the JA youth about the economic realities of life.

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Virginia, More than 100 KPMG employees from Tysons Corner and Washington, D.C. bowled with their families at Bowl America Falls Church as part of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington’s annual JA Bowl fundraiser. In Maine, the Bangor Region Junior Achievement program hosted their 7th Annual “Taste of Spring” fundraiser which included a buffet dinner, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle. Fundraisers by other Junior Achievement clubs include investing seminars, galas, auctions, raffles, product sales, and game nights.

Mall Coat Check – Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, my nephew’s basketball team went to the local mall fundraising every weekend.
