Yearbook Fundraising Ideas

For most students, the annual Yearbook is something to treasure and go back and look at over and over again as the years go by. Typically, there’s a Yearbook Committee or Staff in charge of putting the book together every year, and most of them hold a fundraiser during the year to help keep the price of the yearbook as low as possible for the students. Fundraising for the yearbook has the added bonus of providing great photo ops for the yearbook!

One of the biggest decisions is often deciding what type of fundraiser to do. In Cambridge, MD, the Cambridge-South Dorchester High School yearbook committee hosted a Talent Show fundraiser. In Yeadon, PA, an enterprising yearbook photographer-turned-fundraiser went door to door and set up bake sales outside Wal-Mart to raise enough money to hire a cherry picker to take an aerial photo of the school’s entire Class of 2013 all in matching t-shirts. Fundraisers by other Yearbook committees include auctions, car washes, thons, product sales, and raffles.

Dating Game – The National Honor Society at Seminole HS in Sanford, FL, organizes a Dating Game fundraiser based on the concept of the television show, with three bachelors and three bachelorettes asking unseen contestants a series of questions. Read more…

Lazy Boy Day – We ran Lazy-Boy Day fundraising activity and a way to raise some money. We set up a Lazy Boy chair in the cafeteria at lunch on Monday to Thursday, and sold tickets for 25 cents each. On Thursday, just before the end of school, we drew the winner’s name. That person got to spend all of their classes on Friday from the comfort of the Lazy Boy chair. Read more…
