Golf Tournament Fundraiser

Made arrangements with a golf course to have a fundraising golf tournament. Arrange for reduced greens fees to be paid by your organization and solicit donated prizes for winners.  Arrange for volunteers to handle registration, watch holes, and act as referees regarding rules of play.  Charge $25 -$50 or more per 2 person team (to be paired with players of similar ability); $50-$100 or more for foursomes.  You’ll need to arrange the golfers into ‘flights’ using established handicaps or other criteria. Sell boxed lunches and have donated door prizes.  If your city hosts a professional golf  tournament, arrange to provide volunteers for crowd control, ticket takers, shuttle drivers, etc.  The golf league or host club pays your organization instead of hired help.  Volunteers get to watch the play before or after their work shift.

Whacking Dead Golf Tournament Fundraiser: Leisure Education for Exceptional People (LEEP) holds Inaugural Whacking Dead Golf tournament fundraiser which helps support all of LEEP’s programming.  What is this event? A night golf tournament with a zombie twist! As a participant the goal is to stay “alive” through every hole as you evade zombies on every hole. Your $75 player registration includes your entry into the best ball tournament, a t-shirt, dinner, 2 drink tickets, and admission to an after party.  Don’t want to golf? Be a Zombie! You could participate on a hunt of golfers out on the course. The $10 Zombie fee included 1 drink ticket and admission to an after party. Source: LEEP Mankato

Night Golf Tournament Fundraiser: Add a special twist to a golf tournament, and hold a night golf outing. Instead of playing golf during the day, participants will play in the evening. To setup a night golf outing you use special glow golf balls that use glow sticks to illuminate them, and use various different glow sticks to outline certain holes you wish to play. Increase the excitement and have special contests with prizes for the participants, such as best decorated golf cart, golf bag, and outfit.  If you don’t want to bother with the trouble of setting up a night golf tournament you can also have anight golf hole-in-one-contest. Choose a par 3 hole, and have people pay for a chance to win a donated prize. There’s nothing more exciting than watching glowing golf balls flying through the air at night, unbelievable sight.  Submitted by Jeremy T, Collierville, TN

We have included a number of do-it-yourself fundraising ideas in this section that offer a break from traditional product sales.  They were developed by groups just like yours in an attempt have a little fun with their fundraiser. Some of them are tried and true while others show a lot of creativity … and even wackiness in some cases.  All of them are obviously not appropriate for every group, but sometimes, with only a little modification, your might find some fund raising ideas that are perfect for your group. If you have an idea for a do-it-yourself fund raiser you are willing to share with others, please send it to us via email. Include anything and everything you would want to know if you were hearing the idea for the first time.
