Mega Card Fundraiser

This is a small fundraiser that offers great side benefits and good will. Make giant Christmas cards to take to members of your church who aren’t able to come to church for an extended period. Charge people in the church one dollar to sign it. The recipients of the cards will love this. Get a list from your pastor of the people from your church who are in nursing homes or are just not able to attend services. If the list is too long, just make a card for those who don’t have family with whom they will celebrate Christmas. Make the cards colorful and put the recipients’ name on each one so that it isn’t just a generic “dear friend” card. Make an announcement in the church bulletin so that everyone knows what the cards are for and how they work. Set the cards in the front of the church so that everyone can see them. Deliver the cards a week before Christmas. Consider taking a few friends and singing Christmas carols. Be cheerful.

Alternative: You could do the same with a get well card for a fellow student or teacher who is in the hospital or is out sick for an extended period. Set up a table in the cafeteria at lunch time and charge people to sign it. You could do the same for a teacher who is getting married, having a baby, etc. Use your imagination!

We have included a number of do-it-yourself fundraising ideas in this section that offer a break from traditional product sales.  They were developed by groups just like yours in an attempt have a little fun with their fundraiser. Some of them are tried and true while others show a lot of creativity … and even wackiness in some cases.  All of them are obviously not appropriate for every group, but sometimes, with only a little modification, your might find some fund raising ideas that are perfect for your group. If you have an idea for a do-it-yourself fund raiser you are willing to share with others, please send it to us via email. Include anything and everything you would want to know if you were hearing the idea for the first time.
