Super Bowl Sub Sale Fundraiser

The Greenfield, Ohio, Mothers’ Club, each year sponsors a Super Bowl Sub Sale fundraising event. On Super Bowl Sunday, submarine sandwiches (3 kinds of sliced meat, 3 kinds of cheese, shredded lettuce, peppers, onions, and dressing on a hoagie bun) are mass-produced in an assembly line fashion. These are sold individually or by the bag (a dozen to a bag). Each member pre-sells.  There is a fundraising committee to deliver pre-sold sandwiches, a preparation committee, and a committee to actually make the sandwiches.

People in town know this will be happening, and those who are having Super Bowl Parties buy bags of sandwiches. People can also stop in and buy as the sandwiches are being made. This is a great fundraiser. It takes some preparation, but the majority of the work is done in one day. As much as possible in the way of ingredients is donated by local businesses, the rest purchased.  Source: Mimi Duncan, Students Against Destructive Decisions (Canadian, Texas)

We have included a number of do-it-yourself fundraising ideas in this section that offer a break from traditional product sales.  They were developed by groups just like yours in an attempt have a little fun with their fundraiser. Some of them are tried and true while others show a lot of creativity … and even wackiness in some cases.  All of them are obviously not appropriate for every group, but sometimes, with only a little modification, your might find some fund raising ideas that are perfect for your group. If you have an idea for a do-it-yourself fund raiser you are willing to share with others, please send it to us via email. Include anything and everything you would want to know if you were hearing the idea for the first time.
