Our youth group will be babysitting in a gymnasium for Christmas shoppers and parents who want to go out Valentines evening. This allows parents to shop in peace and enjoy an evening out without the kids. For the Christmas babysitting fundraising we will watch Christmas movies, play games, have snacks, etc. Make sure your insurance covers this. Have plenty of adult supervision. Submitted by Kim C.
Corpus Christi Youth Leaders sponsored an evening of babysitting from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m at their church. Activities included include crafts, dinner, games and a movie all for the low price $30.00 for one child and $15.00 (half-off) for any siblings. This evening for parents was for all children who are potty trained, to allow parents a special night out (or do some early holiday shopping) without the children tagging along.
The Brighton High School Relay for Life student team held a babysitting fundraiser at Grace Baptist Church, from 5pm-10pm. Fees were $20 for 1 child, $35 for two children, $45 for three children and $50 for four children. Fees were for the total amount of time services were offered and not per hour. This fee also included snacks, beverages and entertainment. Adults were on site. All monies raised were contributed to “Making Hope’s” Tipton County’s Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
The Indian River High School swim team hosted a babysitting fundraiser from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Selbyville Middle School, providing “a nice little bonus for parents to go out to dinner” and spend a Saturday night together. The entire evening cost $20 per child, and there was a discount for additional children from one family. The event was for children from kindergarten through 6th grade. Advance reservations were required. Cash and checks were accepted. Children enjoyed games, sports, a moon bounce and a late-night movie with popcorn. Dinner and snacks were provided. To ensure individualized attention, each child had a “buddy” on the swim team who specifically looked after him or her. Proceeds helped the swim team in renting pool space.
