Charades Fundraiser

Everybody is familiar with the parlor game “Charades”, but did you ever consider making it a fundraising event? The Gale Recovery Center in New Jersey did. They invited teams of five, at $100 per team, to participate. Each team was given 10 minutes to guess as many answers as they could. Categories included movies, books and songs. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams were given prizes donated by local business, such as a pizza party at a local Italian restaurant and other prizes easily shared among five people. It’s an easy fundraiser to organize, no special equipment is required, and everyone has a great time for a good cause. This event can easily be paired with other fundraisers, such as a silent auction, a casual dinner event or a 50/50 raffle, just to name a few.

If you have an idea for a do-it-yourself fund raiser you are willing to share with others, please send it to us via email. Include anything and everything you would want to know if you were hearing the idea for the first time.
