Christmas In .. ? .. Fundraiser

Why limit Christmas to just one month of happiness and get-togethers with friends?  Plan a Christmas party for a small-scale fundraiser any month of the year! (This shouldn’t require as much effort as one might normally put into a Christmas party.  i.e.  No need to set up your artificial tree or decorate the entire house.)  Send invitations to friends to come to your Christmas party in (month), wearing Christmas colors.  Be sure to tell them that, in addition to enjoying Christmas lights, cookies and music, (and anything else you feel like doing) there will be an auction of some small but fun gifts to raise funds for your project.

When I plan to do this next month, my gifts will include:  small candies, jewelry, photo frames, bottles of bubbles, small candles, etc.  (My guest list is female.) Just for kicks, I’m also going to throw in some small cards that list jobs I could do for my friends, such as buying her a cup of coffee, cleaning her kitchen 3 times, baby-sitting twice for free, etc.  This way, your presents are not only fun but personalized, and your guests could feel you are also willing to work a bit to earn the money that was raised for the gift.  Wrap the gifts before your guests come, and try to remember what’s in each package so you can share hints about its contents as you auction it off!  Source: Mandy R, SPHI-Sentul
