Horse Show Fundraiser

A team that I was on to raise money for the Relay For Life cancer fund, had tremendous success with a unique fundraiser that we did a couple of weeks ago. We had a horse show/barrel racing event. Each participant was charged an entry fee for practicing, as well as participating in the horse show itself. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were given cash prizes in “x” amount for each place. We not only charged a small amount at the door to attend the show, but we also sold concessions (hotdogs, candy, chips) and also sold chances on donated door prizes. All in all, by the end of the night, our team had raised just short of $2,000. So I highly recommend this for a fundraising event, if you, or anyone you know deals with rodeos or anything like that.  (Source: Anonymous)

We have included a number of do-it-yourself fundraising ideas in this section that offer a break from traditional product sales.  They were developed by groups just like yours in an attempt have a little fun with their fundraiser. Some of them are tried and true while others show a lot of creativity … and even wackiness in some cases.  All of them are obviously not appropriate for every group, but sometimes, with only a little modification, your might find some fund raising ideas that are perfect for your group. If you have an idea for a do-it-yourself fund raiser you are willing to share with others, please send it to us via email. Include anything and everything you would want to know if you were hearing the idea for the first time.
