Fallbrook, CA - Members of the tap
dancing senior group “Toe Tappers” performed in military
uniforms during the Fallbrook Senior Center Flag Day
fundraising event at Silvergate Retirement Residence, they
performed a variety of patriotic dances. U.S. Army veteran
and Apreva Hospice representative Derrick Staples, spoke
before conducting a pinning ceremony for military veterans
attending, who all received flag pins. |
Sacramento, CA - The third
annual Paddle 4 DART fundraiser Saturday at Riverbank
Marina in Sacramento brought in about $20,000 for the
Drowning Accident Rescue Team. As spectators and
volunteers cheered from the docks on the Garden Highway,
dozens of people raced up and down the Sacramento River
on paddle boards. While most participants were from the
Sacramento area, there was a contingent from San
Francisco. |

Elmira, NY - A community rallied
around a little boy who is battling a brain tumor on
Saturday. After numerous consultations and testing,
three-year-old Trenton Covell was diagnosed with a left
temporal tumor of the brain - causing epilepsy.
Trenton's family held a fundraiser Saturday afternoon at
Roundin' Third in Elmira to help offset his expensive
brain surgery. There was a donation of $10 at the door,
plenty of raffles, sales, and entertainment. |
Claremore, OK - Rogers County
Sheriff Scott Walton is ready to take the plunge into
ice cold water in a fundraising effort for the K-9
Search and Rescue team, that is, if you have a good aim.
RCSO Major Coy Jenkins will also climb up the ladder for
folks to give take aim at a target to drop him - and
others - into the firgid water. The dunking opportunity
will be on Saturday at the Claremore Community Center
during the 2017 Cop Diggity Dog Festival. |

Kennebunkport, ME - The annual
George H.W. Bush Golf Classic Fundraiser has raised about
$100,000 for a Maine nonprofit that provides a place for
families to stay when loved ones are hospitalized. Now in
its 15th year, the event at the Cape Arundel Golf Club in
Kennebunkport is a family affair. The nation's 41st
president was joined Tuesday by his son, former President
George W. Bush. Actor Patrick Dempsey also attended and said
there's "so much love" in the community for the family. |
Omaha, NE - A fundraiser for the
family of a Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office deputy who
died in the line of duty will be held Friday at the I-80
Speedway during a tribute to local military, police and fire
personnel. Jim Cahill, who is corporate security manager for
Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha, stood in front of his
racecar at the Pottawattamie County Jail featuring a
portrait of Mark Burbridge, who died May 1 during an escape
attempt there. |

Enniskillen, Ireland - A virtual
reality headset which allows users to experience what life
is like for people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD) was used at the launch of a unique
fundraiser that is aiming to raise money for an Enniskillen-based
ADHD support group. ADHD NI will be the recipient of funds
raised from the Endurance of the Erne, an almost 100 mile
run around Upper and Lower Lough Erne over three days. The
brainchild of local runner Rory O’Donnell, whose son has
ADHD, the run will be undertaken by a total of 14 local
athletes, all of whom have been sponsored. |
Omaha, NE - Little Avery doesn’t
have the money needed to donate to the Children Miracles
Network. But she has found a way to give to the annual
fundraising event that begins on Friday. “I help kids,”
says first grader Avery. “I give them toys and they feel
happy and that makes me feel happy.” This year’s
fundraising campaign is called “Creating a Miracle” and
the organization is hoping to reach a goal of $100,000. |

Hamilton, MA - The 4th annual
Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center at Myopia Polo, a
fundraising event open to the public, will be held July 30
at the Myopia Hunt and Polo Club in Hamilton. Proceeds will
benefit the VIC at Massachusetts General Hospital, which
develops innovative technologies that address unmet medical
needs in infectious diseases, cancer and type 1 diabetes.
The event will feature a polo match between teams USA and
South America, a silent auction; and a reception under the
grandstand VIP tent, including hors’ d’oeuvres, specialty
cocktails and dessert. |
Waterloo, IA - Surrounded by
grandchildren and a daughter, Roxanna Wagner-Parecki
walked around Hawkeye Community College’s central green
space Friday. It’s an annual journey the Denver woman
and her family have made during the past four years as
part of the Black Hawk County Relay for Life. The
fundraising event raises money for the American Cancer
Society. “We try to do laps, and then every year I give
the grandkids one of these bracelets,” she said. The
bracelets are purchased from the booth of Team FROG, and
after every lap they can stop by to add a bead. Eight of
her grandchildren attended. |

Littleton, CO - Dawg Nation Hockey
Foundation’s Dawg Bowl VII is a week away at The Edge Ice
Arena in Littleton. The 42-team hockey tournament includes
the Mainline West Top Dawgs - a top-tiered team exclusively
consisting of current and former professional players — and
a smorgasbord of off-ice activities to benefit Front Range
hockey families in need. The Avalanche, Colorado Eagles and
DU Pioneers are among Dawg Nation’s most affluent
supporters, and NHL teams such as the Dallas Stars, Ottawa
Senators and New York Rangers have donated signed sweaters
and other auction items. |
Kenmore, WA - A fundraiser is being
held on July 14 to support the efforts of the community
members working to bring back the “Welcome to Bothell for a
day or a lifetime” sign. Tickets are $50 for the event to
bring back the iconic sign. It will be at Inglewood Golf
Club in Kenmore. The event will include raffle items,
appetizers and Foggy Noggin’ Brewing’s “For a Beer or a
Lifetime” brew. |

Kingston, ON - Celebrating and
enhancing the experiences of Limestone District School
Board (LDSB) students is what the Limestone Learning
Foundation (LLF) is all about and this year they are
also focusing on celebrating Canada with their annual
fundraising event. On Tuesday, members of the LLF,
parents, students and board members gathered at the
Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts in Kingston
to announce the Canadian Crystal. “This special event is
a three act gala performance evening celebrating
Limestone District School Board students and graduates
and their incredible talents onstage,” explained Kath
Leverette, chair of the LLF. “The evening is going to be
magical. Canada’s next 150 years will be in the hands of
these powerful and confident students and we look
forward to seeing everyone there to celebrate them and
Canada.” |
Carbondale, IL - The 2017 Morris
Library fundraiser promises to be bigger and better than
ever with music by the award-winning bluegrass band, The
Bankesters, along with a buffet dinner, a silent auction and
more. The fundraiser is sponsored by Southern Illinois
University Carbondale’s Friends of Morris Library and will
be held at the Copper Dragon. Proceeds of the fundraiser
enable the Friends of Morris Library to provide valuable
support for the library’s educational, scholarly and
research missions. |

Oneonta, NY - The approximately
70 students of Oneonta Community Christian School and
various OCCS administrators, friends and family gathered
Friday morning in Oneonta’s Neahwa Park for the return
of the OCCS Games Fundraiser. OCCS principal David
Pritchard explained, “OCCS Games is a fundraising event
that engages children to go out and seek sponsors.” The
students, spanning pre-kindergarten to 12th grade,
obtained per-lap, per-shot and per-match pledges from
area businesses and individuals before the
non-competitive games. Pritchard said the children would
be biking, running, scoring soccer goals and shooting
baskets throughout the day, which was expected to
conclude shortly after noon with a barbecue. |
San Antonio, TX - San Antonians and
their four-legged friends got together for a fun-filled day
to raise money for cancer research. Phil Kandera organized
the fundraising event at McAllister Park. There was a dog
trick contest, best-dressed contest, and gift card
giveaways. He is running for 'Man of the Year' as part of
the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's campaign where
participants try to raise the most funds during 10 weeks. |

Rahway, NJ - Merchant & Drover’s
Tavern will hold a fundraising event in Rahway on June 30
and July 1, sponsored by the cast of “Ghost Hunters.” The
money will be used for the restoration of the historical
location. Fans will have a chance to explore and investigate
paranormal activity with celebrity guests Steve Gonsalves,
Dave Tango, Joe Chin and Bruce Tango, all of whom have
appeared on the hit SyFy television show. |
Kingston, ON - Kingston’s only
escape room teamed up with the humane society today in
order to raise much needed funds. “Improbable Escapes”
on Bagot street held its first annual ‘im-paws-ible
escape’ fundraising event -with 50 percent of all money
raised from game admission going to the Kingston humane
society. |

Grand Rapids, MI - John Ball Zoo
is getting ready to host Rendezoo, their largest
fundraiser of the year, on Friday. The casual outdoor
party will feature food, entertainment, and an auction.
Plus, guests will have the chance to see the animals up
close and help take care of what goes on behind the
scenes at the zoo. |
Stillwater, OK - One of the
biggest booster clubs in the Stillwater area is
preparing for its big fundraising event. On Friday,
golfers will be putting their tees into the ground,
tennis players lining up to serve and others will be
putting on large plastic bubbles to play soccer for the
27th annual Pioneer Playday. Pioneer Playday is the
largest fundraiser for the Pioneer Booster Club, which
raises money for all athletics’ programs at Stillwater
High and junior highs. |

UK - Leading charity, Crohn’s &
Colitis UK, have announced their nationwide fundraising
WALK IT events are back for summer 2017, and will be
launched by TV personality, Samantha Faiers. Taking
place throughout May, June and July; WALK IT invites
anyone to join and walk either 5km or 10km to show their
support for the fight against Inflammatory Bowel Disease
(IBD). There will be eight routes across the country
this year – London, Manchester, Edburgh, Swansea as well
as newly added locations in Bristol, Plymouth,
Birmingham and Newcastle. |
Van Wert, OH - The Van Wert
County Humane Society will be having a “Paws in the
Parking Lot” event Saturday in the parking of Purmort
Brothers Insurance, corner of Crawford and Jefferson
streets. Come meet some of the Humane Society’s most
lovable, adoptable pets and show support by purchasing
wristbands, key chains, t-shirts, and bandanas. All
proceeds go to provide medical care for shelter animals
and maintain the shelter facility. The event is
sponsored by CJ’s Shaved Ice and Purmort Brothers
Insurance. |

Reno, NV - It’s pretty much now
or never in the effort to Save the Pyramid. The Save the
Pyramid group will hold one more major fundraising
party, called ‘Bottom of the Ninth,’ on Saturday, at the
athletic complex near Swope Middle School. The group
trying to save the sports complex got the original bid
to save the structure down to $1 million, from the
original $1.5 million. The group has raised about
$850,000 so far, from foundations, community members and
donations. The adults-only event was also held last year
and raised $100,000 in one day. The event includes food,
drinks and entertainment. |
Chippewa Falls, WI - If you're
looking to get an inside look into the world of
Motorsports, a future IndyCar driver is making his way
to the Chippewa Valley and will be participating in a
fundraising event. Wednesday, at Morrie's Chippewa
Valley Mazda, IndyCar fans have the chance to meet Aaron
Telitz. Telitz will be racing in this year's Indy Lights
race. Telitz will have his race car in town for the
event and fans will be able to do test rides with the
Wisconsin native driver. Part of the proceeds from the
event will also be helping out tornado relief victims in
Barron county. |

Dedham, ME - On Saturday,
members of the Greater Bangor Area are invited to attend
a fundraising event to benefit Camp Ca Pella, a summer
camp that provides diverse recreational and educational
opportunities for children and adults with disabilities.
The event will take place at High Tide Restaurant in
Brewer. Bow Street Distribution and New Amsterdam Vodka
are sponsoring the BBQ and will provide live music. |
Jamestown, NY - Tickets are now
available for the eighth annual Bark N’ Brew charity
fundraiser to benefit the Chautauqua County Humane
Society. The event will be held on Tuesday at the
Southern Tier Brewing Company. This fundraising event
provides a limited number of ticketed attendees with
barbecue dinner, 2 complimentary beers, live/ticket
auctions and other fun surprises all in the name of
charity. Tickets are $50 each and will include one entry
into CCHS’ Cash Bash raffle, which will offer the chance
at 1 of 5 cash prizes. The proceeds from the event allow
the shelter to offer fee-waived adoption programs, low
cost spay/neuter clinics, and other animal services
year-round to the community. |

Kinston, NC - Kinston Teens will
host its first “Splash Bash” Summer Celebration fundraising
event Saturday at Lions Water Adventure located at the
Woodmen Community Center. The community is invited to attend
this all-ages event, coinciding with the 17th birthday of
Chris Suggs, Kinston Teens founder and CEO. Lions Water
Adventure is home to a variety of water activities,
including: a pool, three waterslides, a 5,000 square-foot
kiddie lagoon, and a lazy river. |
San Francisco, CA - Filipino
community groups raised funds for Filipino seniors,
Filipinas with breast cancer and orphaned Filipino
children by holding a fashion show and auction of items
of the dresses worn in the show and precious items from
private collections. Dubbed Catwalk for Cause, the
fundraising event was held recently at the Fort McKinley
restaurant in South San Francisco for the Pilipino
Senior Resource Center. |

Columbia, SC - Lt. Frieda Wyatt
said it was a miracle her cancer went into remission.
The nearly 20-year Richland County Sheriff’s Department
veteran, who serves on its fugitive task force, had been
told she had stage IV B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and
that it was not curable. After successfully beating
cancer, however, the exercise enthusiast and mother of
four, along with the sheriff’s department and Carolina
CrossFit, will play host to the “CrossFit for Cancer”
fundraiser on Saturday for those who are still battling
cancer. All of the money raised during the event will be
donated to the SCOA Cares foundation, a non-profit
organization that provides financial assistance to those
undergoing cancer treatment, Wyatt said. |
St. Thomas, ON - For the last 12
years, the “Day Out with Thomas” has been the single
largest fundraising event organized by the Elgin County
Railway Museum. But this year’s edition of the popular
event will probably be its most important one yet. While
money collected during the annual fundraising has
historically been used to support the museum’s operating
budget, the head of the museum is hoping the event will
attract enough people so that a portion of the proceeds
can be used towards a project to fix a section of the
building’s roof. |

Waynesville, NC - Officials say
donations continue to come in for the fifth annual Cops
on Top event, even after meeting their fundraising goal.
“Achieving our fundraising goal of $35,000 was not an
easy feat, but with everyone’s outpouring of support it
was possible,” Deputy Daniel Blagg said. Haywood County
law enforcement officers and firefighters climbed to the
rooftop of the Waynesville Belk building on Friday and
remained there around-the-clock for three days.
Donations were collected on the ground and at the
Waynesville Chick-fil-A. The money raised will benefit
the Special Olympics of North Carolina. |
