Cartersville, GA - It’s a huge
fundraising effort that makes a “splash” every year, and
right now, Metro Atlanta swimmers are diving into Lake
Allatoona to prepare for this year’s Swim Across America
Atlanta Open Water Swim. This year’s Open Water Swim will
take place on at Lake Lanier, and will raise funds for the
Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorder Center at Children’s
Healthcare of Atlanta. Swim Across America hosts open water
and pool swims around the country, all of which serve as

Swim has become one of the top events in terms of

Livingston, MI - A proposed
memorial to honor Michigan’s fallen law enforcement
officers is moving closer toward construction, thanks to
a fundraising event in Genoa Township. The Michigan Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument is a project that
has been in the works for many years. Proponents are
looking to construct the memorial in Lansing, in a
display of 21 glass panels engraved with the names of
fallen officers along a walkway. The “Raising a
Sentinel” dinner at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center last
night served as a fundraiser to help bring the project
to fruition. |

Dundee, Scotland - Lace up those
trainers and get yer kilt swinging - because one of the most
popular fundraising events Scotland is about to march on
Dundee. Kiltwalk was first launched in 2011. there are four
locations - Dundee, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh – and
there are three different walks to choose from. Backing the
whole Kiltwalk plan is The Hunter Foundation (THF). The
foundation has transformed lives from Scotland to the Sahara
and that’s the beauty of the Kiltwalk - you raise money for
the charity of YOUR choice. THF took over the Kiltwalk a few
years back, so now every pound a walker raises for a charity
of their choice goes to that charity. It gets better - THF
tops-up every pound with an additional 40p. |

|
Laughlin, CO - Back in 1998, a
fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado
River was created that fit the style of a wide-open
casino town like Laughlin. The idea was -”let’s have an
adult margarita party to raise money that will benefit
kids in the process.” The money rolled in, the party
flourished, the Boy & Girls Clubs benefited, and all
these years later, the event continues to hold a spot on
the Laughlin calendar. The party has evolved to be

this year is Fri with location set at the Aquarius
Pavilion within the Aquarius Casino Resort. |

Baton Rouge, LA - The songs will
be familiar, but the roles may be a bit confusing when
Theatre Baton Rouge's veteran actors take the stage on
Saturday. That's the point of the "Roles I'll Never Play
Cabaret." Theatre Baton Rouge premiered the show last
summer as entertainment for its Summer Auction Gala. It
was so popular that the theater has made it a permanent
attraction at its annual fundraising event. "We'll have
actors playing roles that are opposite of what they
usually play," says Caty Steward, TBR's marketing and
development coordinator. "Last year's audience members
told us that they really liked the group numbers, so
we're staging more of them this year." |

opportunity to defy gravity by bouncing inside a huge
ball,” she said. “It is a sports event and a summer
activity.” |
