Odessa, TX - The West Texas North
Pole Village raised around $50,000 during its first year
open, which was used to provide toys and Christmas dinners
to families in need around the Permian Basin. “This was our
first year it was extremely successful and I think it will
just grow every year that we have it and we’ll be back again
bigger and better next year,” said Dr. Ann Wills of the
Emergency Care Clinic, who helped organize the fundraising
event. |

New Orleans, LA - Legendary chef
and restaurateuse Leah Chase of Dooky Chase Restaurant
is just days away from celebrating her 95th birthday.
She's got a big party and fundraising event planned, at
95 years old, Chase says the only thing she needs to
celebrate is helping others. Chef Chase's 95th birthday
celebration, benefiting the Leah Chase Family
Foundation, is set for next Saturday at the Hyatt
Regency. |
Clinton, NC - The United Way of
Sampson County is well on its way to reaching this
year’s fundraising goal, with this year’s Dine Out event
proving to be a huge success. “We’ve currently raised 90
percent of our $175,000 goal,” said Nancy Carr,
executive director for the United Way. “Everyone has
been so generous and we are very thankful for the
community, the businesses, individuals, everyone who has
made this possible. All of our employee campaigns were
very successful this year and we’re just appreciative.” |

Somerset, UK - In celebration of
its 25th anniversary, Junior Poon in Hill Road held a
fundraising evening in support of North Somerset
Community Hospital. Alongside contributions made by
owners Junior and Rena, the restaurant hosted a raffle
and auction to raise £5,430. Junior said: “There were a

our expectation. We are overwhelmed with the support we
received from everyone.” |

Lewes, DE - Delaware's biggest
fundraising event, Winter WonderFEST, is now open every day
through New Year's Eve. The event raised over $100,000 for
17 local charities last year, and we're told they are
looking to pass that this year. With a week and a half to
go, the event has drawn more than the total attendance last
year of 47,000. The Christmas Village and Light Spectacular
are open 5 to 9 through New Year's Eve, with the Visit
Delaware ice skating rink open from noon to 9. |

Kelowna, BC - Art lovers and
community members with a passion for philanthropy
gathered recently at Third Space Coffee for the Rebel
With A Cause launch party and art auction. The
fundraising event boasted more than 100 unique pieces of
art from all different mediums, created by artists from
across the province. The event was hosted as a way to
introduce the new organization, Rebel With A Cause, a
group of alternative and progressive artists from around
the province with a big goal - using their art and the
creative process as a means of healing and uniting the
community. |
Humboldt, SK - There were
shenanigans galore at the Humboldt Golf Club as the Play at
HGC returned for their fundraising performance of Blue
Hairs, Financial Scares, and Double Dares. Original golf
course player and playwright, Dave Hill, says the players
are made up of people who want to support the golf club and
who enjoy getting together to put on the fundraising shows.
Hill wrote the script for the 2017 production with everyone
getting in on making tweaks and contributing quips and jokes
to the final script. |

marketing company DMC Atlanta, headquartered in Georgia,
held two fundraising events during November to support
the work of the Movember Foundation, a nonprofit

events – and having the men of DMC Atlanta grow out

fundraising by 63 percent and also exceeded their 2017
goal of $50,000 to raise a total of $58,577! |

Choir performance. The participants, who had been sponsored
to sing by their colleagues, were drawn from 10 departments
and split into five groups for a Christmas song contest.
Also on stage were 30 students from the Hong Kong Society
for the Protection of Children. The event marked the grand
finale of the banking giant’s fundraising efforts for
Operation Santa Claus, the yearly festive charity campaign
held by the South China Morning Post and RTHK. |

Hong Kong - Jogging in a heavy
costume can get hot and uncomfortable, even during
winter in Hong Kong, but that did not deter some 250
participants from joining the “Run for a Claus”
fundraising treasure hunt. This was the second year that
accounting giant KPMG held the event to raise money for
Operation Santa Claus, the annual charity campaign
organized by the South China Morning Post and RTHK. A
total of 46 teams of four to six members gathered at the

Stevens Point school alumni gathered to put together a small
holiday craft show. However, before the show, one of the
mothers had to rush her daughter to the hospital after
becoming ill. Jill Nemeth’s daughter, Hope, was soon
diagnosed with Meningitis and Encephalitis - and a lengthy
hospital stay followed. What also soon followed was the idea
to make the craft show into a fundraiser, and they haven’t
looked back, since. |
