Eastlake, OH - The Gray Riders of
Ohio Motor Cycle Association will once again be holding
their annual dice run to benefit the Eastlake Police
Activities League (E-PAL). The fundraising event, to be held
Saturday, is the biggest fundraising event of the year for
E-PAL and provides substantial funding for the program.
“This money helps us get through the year. The money goes to
support not only E-PAL, but the community, because it keeps
the center open for the community. The building is also used
for voting, blood drives, and as a disaster area building
for Lake County.” |
Swindon, UK -Donning a wacky wig
and raising a smile in memory of a Swindon mum will be
at the heart of a charity fundraiser on Saturday.
Andraya Lyons, nee Webb, was brutally murdered by her
partner last December and now, eight months on, her
family and friends have organized a 'wear a wig night'
to remember the fun-loving, bubbly and caring
39-year-old. The event will be held at the Check Inn at
Wroughton - a sentimental place for Andraya's family as
her father Edward used to run the pub when it was still
called the Black Horse. |

Conway, AR - Independent Living
Services is gearing up for its 12th annual Golf Ball
Drop to be held at Centennial Country Club in Conway.
“This is the biggest fundraiser that we have,” ILS
Director of Development and Supported Employment Robert
Wright said. Money raised from the annual fundraising
event, he said, goes to support the transport services
for their individuals that aren’t able to drive and get
from one place to another. |
Mobile, AL - A lot of excitement
in Downtown Mobile Thursday night with one goal in mind:
to save lives. The American Cancer Society kicked off
its ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ fundraising
event. Cancer survivors, with their families and
friends, all came together to form teams and raise money
for the upcoming walk in October. The American Cancer
Society funds lifesaving research to prevent cancer,
diagnose it, treat it and help patients recover. |

Telluride, CO - The Telluride
Historical Museum is jazzing up its fundraising efforts this
week with two museum events featuring the type of music that
many in this town have grown fond of. On Thursday, the 13th
annual Feasting on History benefit dinner will be held at
the Sheridan Opera House. “Having it at the opera house made
sense for us because it’s a historic building and we’re the
history museum,” he said. The event will include live jazz
from local musical outfit Spaghetti Sweater, a cocktail
hour, dinner and a silent auction. On Sunday, the museum
will host its fourth annual “Evening with Ken Burns”
fundraiser at the Michael D. Palm Theatre. |
Emporia, KS - The David Traylor Zoo
held a fundraising event Sunday by offering professional
photos taken by Thomas Felts Photography. According to zoo
director Lisa Keith, the proceeds will be split between the
Emporia Friends of the Zoo organization and the Emporia
Animal Shelter. Keith says the event was a fun afternoon.
During the eclipse Monday, Keith noted that some of the
animals used their nocturnal instincts, but soon returned to
regular behavior afterwards. |

Mooresville, NC - Prepare to put
those shucking skills to the test. It’s almost time for the
Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists’ Oyster and Shrimp
Festival’s 10th anniversary fundraising celebration. The
event will be at LangTree Lake Norman. During the event,
LNWC will be celebrating a decade of accomplishments that
have had a positive impact on wildlife and the environment
in the Lake Norman area. Some 600 people attended the event
last year, raising approximately $30,000 for LNWC. Wilson
hopes this year’s event will entice just as many to attend,
with the goal of raising at least $40,000. |
Sherman, TX - Runners from
across Texoma came together Saturday to support the
United Way of Grayson County as the charitable
organization held its annual Hustle for Health
fundraiser. The event, which brought out more than 500
runners from as far as Colorado and Illinois, featured
5K, 10K, and fun run races as a part of the
organization’s focus on health. The event, now in its
8th year, traditionally served as the kick off event for
the organization’s fundraising season. However, due to
the popularity of the event, organizers said the
official kick off event has been pushed back so that the
race does not overshadow the campaign start. |

Killeen, TX - Central Texas College
is hosting its 8th annual GeekFest Fundraiser this weekend.
GeekFest is a celebration of all things geek. The
weekend-long event was created when Hetzel, as a Central
Texas College Student Ambassador, was brainstorming for a
creative fundraiser. What is it today? Anything and
everything geek... from table-top games to video games, live
re-enactments to trivia... GeekFest has all that and more...
like costumes… lots and lots of costumes. |
Ruidoso, NM - Potter Vicki
Conley just finished her annual Flower Pot Mosaic class
at Piņon Pottery. The fundraiser for the Episcopal
Church in Lincoln County has been a summer favorite
among locals and summer visitors for 15 years. People
sign up for $25 and come to the Piņon Pottery studio,
where Conley supplies all the materials. Her broken
pottery, along with material donated by other local
potters, is broken up and students mosaic the pieces
onto terra cotta flower pots using creative colors and
designs. |

Enid, OK - FURever Friends will host
a wine and art fundraising event Saturday at the
Brown-Cummings Event Center. Freda Aboud, FURever Friends
event coordinator, said the evening’s activities will raise
money to help cover veterinarian expenses for the nonprofit
animal rescue and foster program. FURever Friends fosters
rescue animals in private homes and provides needed
veterinarian services, food and medication until the animals
can be adopted. All fostered animals are either spayed or
neutered before being placed in a permanent home. |
Cape Girardeau, MO - Burrito-Ville,
a locally owned and operated restaurant, will hold its
monthly #GiveBacktoCape fundraising event in support of
Robert Harris and Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation
Foundation. The #GiveBacktoCape event for Robert Harris will
donate 10 percent of all sales on the 30th, from 5-9 pm,
including t-shirts, gift certificates, food, beverages, and
alcohol. The money raised will go towards Cape Girardeau
Parks and Recreation foundation. |

Rotorua, NZ - More than $150,000
was raised for Rotorua Community Hospice from this
year's Harcourts Dancing with the Stars. The fundraising
event was held on Saturday at the Energy Events Centre,
with 10 dance couples performing. Hospice Rotorua
funding and development manager Jan Morgan said thanks
to overwhelming support from sponsors and the business
community, the second sell-out event raised more than
$150,000 from a night a glitz, glamour and dance. |
Easton, MA - Beer brewing is an art
form, according to Stoughton House of Brews owner Leo Fay,
and on Saturday, community members came together in
appreciation of the artistry of local beer at the annual “A
Night At the Brewseum” fundraiser in Easton. At the fourth
annual Brewseum fundraiser event, hundreds of guests sampled
a variety of beers and foods from New England-area breweries
and local restaurants. The event is a fundraiser for the
Children’s Museum. |

Huntington. WV - Grab those book
totes and make sure you have plenty of bookmarks on
hand. The Macy's Presents Hilltop: Books Only sale
returns to the Huntington Museum of Art Fundraiser
Sunday. The community donates books to the museum all
year long, Bailey said. Several volunteers, led by event
chair Chris Long and HMA staff members, sort and arrange
used books by categories for weeks prior to the event. |
Anaheim, CA - Tacos, sliders, wine
and drinks like old-fashioneds were all on the menu for the
nearly 500 people participating in the “Taste of Downtown
Disney” at the Disneyland Resort on Thursday. The event
serves as the kickoff of a series of fundraising events
leading up to the CHOC Walk in the Park fundraiser at the
Disneyland Resort on Sunday. “It’s a special progressive
tasting that happens at many of the restaurants in the
Downtown Disney district,” said Zachariah Abrams, the senior
manager of special events for Children’s Hospital of Orange
County. |

Orrington, ME - Six local Maine
bands will perform at Bluegrass Fundraising Festival and
Civil War Event, Saturday, rain or shine at the Curran
Homestead Village. Proceeds will benefit Curran Homestead
Village which is currently in the midst of a growth spurt
with renovations to several buildings as well as new
construction of its museum village campus. |
Cuyahoga Falls, OH - The
Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce will host a clambake
scholarship fundraiser Wednesday at HiHo Brewing Co.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Cuyahoga
Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which awards
scholarships to graduating high school seniors who live
in Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake each year. |

Boca Raton, FL - Ladies and
gentlemen, get ready to rumba. Or cha-cha, or fox trot,
or quick step, or whatever formulaic dance steps suit
your fancy. The 10th annual “Boca’s Ballroom Battle”
takes place Friday at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. The
event is patterned after the popular ABC TV program,
“Dancing with the Stars,” and is a fundraiser for the
George Snow Scholarship Fund. Eight of the community’s
most generous – and most recognizable — people will take
to the dance floor that night to raise cash for the
George Snow Scholarship Fund. Not only that, the dancer
who collects the most money will receive the coveted
Mirror Ball trophy. |
Fallbrook, CA - People gather
for the Luau for Backpacks fundraising event at St.
John’s Episcopal Church in Fallbrook, July 29. A total
of 375 backpacks is needed for the Fallbrook Food Pantry
to distribute to students. St. John’s Episcopal Father

Foundation and the Friends of Dog Parks will host the
inaugural Dog Bowl fundraising event presented by TMCO
Inc. Sunday at Pinewood Bowl, South Coddington and West
Van Dorn streets in Lincoln. The Dog Bowl is a fun,
musical event to raise funds for the Lincoln Dog Runs
Campaign, sponsored by Friends of the Dog Parks and the
Lincoln Parks Foundation. This free family-friendly
event will feature food trucks, craft beer, vendor
tents, dog activities and live music at picturesque
Pinewood Bowl inside beautiful Pioneers Park. |
Tacoma, WA - FUSION (Friends
United to Shelter the Indigent, Oppressed and Needy)
held its 24th annual summer arts fundraising festival
Aug. 2 at the Dumas Bay Centre to benefit homeless
families in the area. This year’s theme was “Under the
Big Top” and included food, circus-inspired
entertainment and silent and live auctions featuring
creations by local artists. Proceeds from the annual
festival – which often raises more than $100,000 – go
toward supporting FUSION’s 19 fully-furnished housing
units in the Federal Way and Northeast Tacoma area. |

McHenry, WV - Garrett County
Community Action’s Agency on Aging and Nutrition office
will host the third annual “Hot August Night” fundraiser
on Friday at the Garrett College auditorium theater in
McHenry. This year’s featured performer is Ricky Howsare,
who has been described by the Appalachian Independent as
“the musical phenomenon from Bedford, Pa.” “Ricky is a
remarkable young artist who brings a Vegas quality show
right to the comfort of your own hometown." |
Windsor, ON - The Windsor Centre
for Film, Digital Media, and the Creative Arts is
hosting a parking lot party fundraiser, REEL 2 REAL , on
Saturday, from 4:00pm until 9:00pm. The event will be
held in the parking lot behind the Cook Shop. Planned
party festivities include live music, karaoke, food
vendors, a silent auction, an artist booth area, cash
bar with beer and wine, and tours of the inside of the
Centre’s future 28,000 sq ft media arts facility. |

Lafayette, LA - Bikes, Beer, and
Burritos is a fundraising social to support local
cycling non-profit BikeLafayette, to build the cycling
community and to raise awareness about safety and
infrastructure. The event welcomes riders from all
aspects of the cycling community, from mountain to road
bikers. The day will include live music, burritos from
Chipotle, brews from Bayou Teche Brewery, group rides,
vendors and more. The event will be held at Acadiana
Park, near the mountain bike trails on Saturday. |
Loudonville, OH - The
Loudonville Theatre and Arts Committee (LTAC) will play
host to two nights of the first Loudonville's Got Talent
fundraising event on Friday and Saturday in the historic
Ohio Theatre in downtown Loudonville. Have you ever
wanted to strut your stuff on the stage? Maybe you
entertain your friends and family with songs, dances or
funny stories? Whether you sing, write poems, do magic,
do karate, etc, come make your entertaining dreams come
true and be a part of Loudonville's Got Talent
fundraising event. One hundred percent of the proceeds
for the event will go toward the lighting project, which

Horseheads, NY - The community came
together to help raise money for a teenage girl battling an
incurable brain condition. On Sunday, the third annual
"Bella's Journey" fundraising event was held at Raymour and
Flanigan in Horseheads. The event was created by the family
of Bella Sacharczyk, who is an eighteen-year-old girl
battling with Hydrocephalus. "We're having a basket raffle,
all donated by different people in the community. We have a
bounce house and food. We had the radio station was here
today and we're just raising money for Hydrocephalus for the
awareness of Hydrocephalus and for the research." |
Clark County, WA - The Humane
Society for Southwest Washington is preparing for its
annual dinner and auction, which will raise money for
the local animal-welfare nonprofit. The Humane Society’s
Mad Hatter’s Party Dinner-Auction will be held at the
Red Lion Hotel on the River - Jantzen Beach. The
fundraising event includes a silent auction, there will
be a seated dinner with wines, raffle drawings and a
live auction for prizes that will include trips, wine
and other items. The proceeds from the event will help
the Humane Society fund adoption services, reunite lost
pets with their owners and care for animals. |

Winmalee High School is putting the fun back into
fundraising by hosting the first ever Comedy for a Cause
in the Blue Mountains. A top line-up of comedians will
take part, headlined by LA Comedy Awards comedian of the
year Al Del Bene. He will be joined by some of the best
new comics in Australia - Dave Jory, Mat Wakefield and
Joe Comino. The September 9 event will replace the
annual artfest as the school’s major fundraiser. |
