multi-level pub where participants gathered to begin, was
packed with around 40 people decked out in
increasingly-ridiculous outfits. |

Tokyo hopes to raise the money she needs to continue her
journey through an artistic fundraiser next week in
Calgary. Hailey Daniels, 27, has been fighting to have
women be allowed to compete in canoeing in the Olympics
for the past few games and she says it's been a battle
from the start. "Our sport was in the exact same
situation as women’s ski jumpers where the men were the
only ones in the Olympics but the women were not. So, we
had to go through a gender equality appeal and just try
to have our sport be Olympic." |

Exmouth, Australia - The Exmouth
Players have arranged two fundraising events, which are
coming up in the next few days. The proceeds from both

the theatre, and disabled access. The second event is
prize-only bingo. Described as a ‘fun afternoon out, with
prizes and a chance of making some new friends’, it’s at the
Blackmore Theatre next Wednesday. |
Lynn, MA - When there is a local
tragedy, the city of Lynn is known for its communal
efforts in helping those in need. For Broad Street
residents who lost everything in Monday’s four-alarm
fire, it is no different. Twenty-eight residents were
left with no roof over their heads along with the
heartbreak of losing family pets and valuable items.
District 45, one of Lynn’s new downtown restaurants,
immediately offered up its help in fundraising efforts
for the victims affected by the fire. Since Tuesday, the
restaurant has left out a donation box at the front of
their establishment for anyone who wants to contribute. |

bring Milwaukee’s music scene closer together and to raise

area animal shelters and witnessing, firsthand, the
volume of pets in need of care, Oneonta resident Terra
Butler was moved to launch her own animal advocacy
organization, she said. In late July 2017, Super Heroes

Kenosha, WI - With the cold
weather that has held a firm, icy grip on the region the
past few weeks, most would probably scoff at the idea of
running a mile in the chilly air around an outdoor
track. Now, imagine not only braving the cold to run a
mile around the University of Wisconsin-Parkside outdoor
track, but also chugging eggnog with each lap. It’s a
unique fundraiser organized by Bradford High School
Senior Will Fellman. This year, the event will benefit
the Kenosha Care Net Family Resource Center. |
Las Cruces, NM - The Las Cruces
nonprofit Revolution-120, created to provide financial

Friday in the courtyard at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch
Heritage Museum. The outdoor event will include a red

|
Montgomery, TX - A fundraising
event featuring more than two dozen pro golfers raised
more than $1 million for Hurricane Harvey relief, thanks
in large part to a hefty price paid for a private lesson
with Tiger Woods. The pro-am fundraiser was organized by
Chris Stroud, winner of the Barracuda Championship this
summer, and fellow pro and Houston resident Bobby Gates.
It was held at Bluejack National in Montgomery, Texas,
about an hour outside Houston and the first
Woods-designed course to open in the U.S. The big-ticket
item on the auction block was a private, two-person
lesson with Woods at Bluejack National that sold for a
whopping $210,000. |
Visalia, CA - It isn't the most
wonderful time of the year when you're taking ornaments
down and unwrapping lights off a dead, dried-up
Christmas tree. But one Boy Scout troop is making it
less of a hassle with their annual fundraising event.
Visalia's Boy Scout Troop 317 helps with the Christmas
takedown by picking up your dead tree and disposing of
it in drop-off bins located around town. For residents,
this is one less task to think about during the
holidays. For scouts, they get to do a good service. It
also brings them one step closer to summer camp in
Oregon. |
|
|
Plymouth, MI - Kate Koch doesn’t
consider herself in a league with Leonardo da Vinci or
Andrew Wyeth, but on a recent Saturday afternoon, she
picked up her paintbrush and decided to try out her
inner artist. Koch was one of 32 individuals who
participated in the second annual fundraising event for
the family of Fran Thomas, a seven-year-member of
Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 who died early in 2016 from
multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer. |
Westmoreland, PA - Some of the

earn on Feb. 7. Instead, the money collected by a series of
guest bartenders that evening will be donated to help
support mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters of
the Laurel Region. The fundraising event begins at 5 p.m.,
when several volunteer bartenders from Standard Bank of
Greensburg will vie for tips at the pub at 8 N. Pennsylvania
Ave., Greensburg. Other volunteers will take over bartending
duties at 6 and 7 p.m. Games and prizes will be featured. |
